This 5-day read-aloud unit focuses on author’s points and reasons through the use of the picture book What If Everybody Did That? by Ellen Javernick.¬†You will need a copy of this book for use throughout the unit. You may be able to find a read aloud of the book on YouTube.
The unit includes five lessons as outlined on the sample pacing calendar. This is just a suggested format and can be adapted to fit your instructional format and students’ needs.
The instructions for each day’s lesson are followed by the corresponding student pages that tie in with each of the daily lessons. Detailed instructions for these pages are included within the daily lesson plans.
This unit contains pieces for an interactive notebook. However, if you do not use interactive notebooks, you can use the pages as printables instead.
