This week-long literary unit focuses on teaching text connections and explaining events, procedures, ideas, or concepts in a historical, scientific, or technical text, including what happened and why, based on specific information in the text, through the use of the engaging non-fiction picture book Now and Ben by Gene Barretta. You will need a copy of this book for use throughout the unit. You may be able to find a read aloud of the book on YouTube.

 

The student pages are designed to be used in interactive notebooks, but can also be used as printables.
