This literary unit focuses on teaching point of view through the use of the picture book Grace for President by Kelly DiPucchio. You will need a copy of this book for use throughout the unit. You may be able to find a read aloud of the book on YouTube.

The student pages are designed to be used in interactive notebooks, but can also be used as printables.

THIRD GRADE

  Distinguish their own point of view from that of the narrator or those of the characters.

FOURTH GRADE

• CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.4.6
  Compare and contrast the point of view from which different stories are narrated, including the difference between first- and third-person narrations.
